An Intrinsic Introduction, Penstemon ‘Pocahontas’ features burgundy foliage in spring, followed in June by three- to four-foot burgundy-red stems topped with loose clusters of pale purple-pink tubular flowers. This striking color combination drew rave reactions when it bloomed near our office and quickly became a favorite of hummingbirds and other pollinators. Growing 24–30 inches tall, it thrives in full sun and well-drained to rich soils, offering glossy green foliage and long-lasting seasonal interest. PP#24,804.
Full sun to part shade, medium moisture soil. 1 gallon.
